Band
Bole 2 Harlem it's a band. They played the contemporary Ethiopian traditional songs like HOYA HOYE and HAYLOGA..HO with new style.
They are able to make good rhythm out of the songs we used to know through our culture and life in Ethiopia.
The song called bole2harlem is one of the great work of the band.

Continental rifting
This was my second time to read this title so I clicked it. Well it is amazing news. This things never happen so often....often???Not even in hundreds of years but why in Ethiopia? and why now?
"The Red Sea is parting again, but this time Moses doesnÃ’t have a hand in it.Satellite images show that the Arabian tectonic plate and the African plate are moving away from each other, stretching the Earth's crust and widening the southern end of the Red Sea, scientists reported in this week's issue of journal Nature.
Last September, a series of earthquacks started splitting the planet's surface along a 37-mile section of the East African Rift in Afar, Ethiopia. "
"Over a period of three weeks, the crust on the sides of the rift moved apart by 26 feet and magma×enough to fill a football stadium more than 2,000 times×was injected along a vertical crack, forming a new crust. "
"This latest split, added to the long-term rifting process, which is tearing the northeast of Ethiopia and Eritrea from the rest of Africa, could eventually create a huge new sea. Although such processes could take millions of years to occur, this event has given scientists an unprecedented opportunity to monitor the rupture in real time.

Interest to explore Ethiopia`s oil
News from
http://www.angolapress-angop.ao/noticia-e.asp?ID=435198
Ethiopia said Sunday the number of foreign companies showing interest in the Horn of Africa country`s petroleum exploration and development has been increasing.
Abiy Hunegnaw, head of Petroleum Department of the Ministry of Mines and Energy, told journalists that the increase was due to shortage of fuel in the international market.
The regulation that Ethiopia issued in 2002 has also contributed for the rise in the number of foreign companies interested to work in Ethiopia, said Abiy.
Seven foreign companies, including Malaysia`s Petronas and PEXCO, a Netherlands-based company, have been licensed and are working in Ethiopia in petroleum exploration and development activities, he said.
The companies have been paying some 100 million U.S. dollars annually for the land they are working on.
A total of 17 foreign companies have shown interest and took bid documents to take part in the development of Calub and Hilala gas in east Ethiopia`s Somali state, he said.
The gas reserve in Calub, 1200 km east of Addis Ababa, is estimated at 2.7 trillion cubic feet and the reserve in Hilala, a locality found 75 km east of Calub, is estimated at 1.7 trillion cubic feet. The total area of the two gas fields is 285 square km of land.
Ethiopia is endowed with energy resources such as coal, oil and natural gas. Current natural gas reserves are estimated to be 24 million cubic meters.

Zeritu kebede
Her name is zeritu. I strongly believe she is the first music revolutionist residing in Ethiopia. Her songs are totally different than the songs U used to hear. She have amazing resemblance with Shakira(Lebanese Colombian artist) mainly the song called Alekefam .
she make me her fan after few minutes of listening her songs.

One of the Great scene in life
This is one of the great scenes on our planet........just a bit attention diversion from EU and Meles argument. This picture shows the space shuttle Discovery takes off attached to a Boeing 747 from Edwards Air Force Base in California. Discovery began the return journey to its Florida main base called Kennedy space Center from its landing site in California on Friday after having to land at Edwards Air Force base because of thunderstorms in Cape Canaveral prevented the space shuttle from landing in Florida.
hey by the way I am so happy by the reaction of the people of Addis Ababa to CUD meetings I felt we really got leaders who are inside the society and responsible don't U think?

poooh
At a press conference, the prime minister, Meles Zenawi, said: "The statement in my view shows that the [EU] mission has turned out to be something worse than a farce.
"We shall in the coming days and weeks see what we can do to expose the pack of lies and innuendoes that characterise the garbage in this report."
"Mr Zenawi, a former guerrilla commander who came to power after overthrowing the Marxist Derg regime, hinted that relations with the EU could take a sharp turn for the worse"

I mean who is the looser here Ethiopia or EU? I don't really know what to think about this guy is he smart or he acts and talk like smart so that everyone will think of him as smart.
